The most amazing self-tanner!! & my self-tanning routine:

Here I’ve given you my beauty tips to achieve the smoothest longest-lasting self-tanning application so your tan can look on point and beautiful.

Give yourself that sun-kissed glow without having to sit in the sun for hours or bake yourself in a tanning bed. Okay, let’s talk application. Prepping your skin first is key so your tan will last as long as possible. I’ll be sure to link everything I actually use below for you along with my favorite go-to’s when it comes to self-tanner.

These are the steps I follow in a two-day process to get the smoothest longest-lasting self-tanning application. I have found this is the best application method, it works perfectly leaving my skin feeling hydrated with an amazing tan!!

Day 1:

Step 1: Shower.

Step 2: Exfoliate your entire body in the shower with exfoliating gloves. I’ve linked my favorite body scrubs for you below.

Step 3: After you shower and exfoliate, moisturize with Hydro Boost whipped Body Balm. (This moisturizer is lightweight, but absorbent it will leave your skin feeling velvety smooth and hydrated.)

Day 2:
Step 1: Shower and Shave.

Step 2: Exfoliate your entire body in the shower with exfoliating gloves. I’ve linked my favorite body scrubs for you below.

Step 3: After showering do not moisturize or put on deodorant; at least not yet.

Step 4: Blow dry your hair. I prefer to blow dry my hair first so that way water from my hair doesn’t drip on my fresh tan.

Step 5: Tie your hair up so it’s out of the way. Start applying your self-tanner. I use Tanologist, St. Tropez, Isle of Paradise, and St. Moriz they are amazing brands and my absolute favorites. I like to start by doing one leg at a time and moving upward. I do use self-tanner on my feet and toes just not the very bottom of my feet. I don’t put any self-tanner on my face. (I wear makeup regularly and I find that I can easily make my makeup match my beautiful, tanned skin. If needed I can always add additional bronzer after I’ve applied all of my makeup.)

Step 6: After you’ve applied your self-tanner allow your tan to dry before dressing. I prefer to use the express self tanner. Formulas are steak-freak, they go on seamlessly and it dries so quickly. After I’ve applied the self-tanner to my body, I stand in front of an electric fan to speed up the drying process even more OR I will blowdry my skin on the cool setting for about 2 minutes or so just to be safe.

Step 7: You are all finished. Now that your tan is dry, you can apply deodorant and get dressed. You are ready to go.

Important Tips:

Now that your tan is freshly applied. For the next few hours avoid getting your body wet and/or doing anything that will cause you to sweat.

For the next couple of days when you shower/bathe, avoid exfoliating so your tan will last longer.

All of the steps above are what I prefer to follow so that my tan will last as long as possible. There are days when I’m in a major rush and don’t have time to do all steps, so I’ll quickly do whatever I have time for. However, the steps I’ve listed above work the absolute best for me keeping my skin moisturized and locking in my tan to last longer.
