Healthy High Protein Ezekiel Bread French Toast

Today I’ll be sharing with you one of my favorite breakfast recipes! This recipe is an amazing source of protein combined with a terrific complex carb to give you a high protein high quality breakfast! Using egg whites instead of whole eggs and Ezekiel bread instead of white bread is so much healthier.

Ingredients you’ll need:

•   10 oz of liquid egg whites

•   6 slices of Ezekiel bread

•   2/3 cup milk

•   1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

•   1 teaspoon vanilla extract

•   Non-stick coconut spray

•   Maple Syrup - I prefer the “Log Cabin Original” - No high fructose corn syrup

•   Powdered sugar

You will also need a pan, a whisk, tongs, and spatula flipper.

This recipe serves 3-6 people.

Step 1) Beat together the egg whites, milk, cinnamon and vanilla.

Step 2) Heat skillet over medium heat.

Step 3) Using tongs dunk each slice of bread in the egg mixture soaking both sides.

Step 4) Spray non-stick coconut spray first then place bread slices in pan and cook on both sides until golden.

Step 5) Pour powdered sugar and syrup as desired. Serve hot.
